San Francisco's 90-day cleanup of the Mission District BART plazas will continue indefinitely, with no end date, the mayor's office confirmed Thursday. The city says emergency calls about homeless people dropped 34 percent and calls about public drug use fell 22 percent since the plan began June 7.

Two months after the Volare capsized and sank in San Francisco Bay, killing four people, police have decided the boat stays where it is. The 49-foot cruiser rests about 130 feet down in currents strong enough to move the wreck, and recovery, police said Friday, would be too dangerous.
