Jazan refinery below full capacity since late July; East-West pipeline shut after Sept 10 strikes
What began as a single drone strike on August 9 has grown into the most serious Saudi-Houthi fighting since the 2022 truce. On September 8, Houthi missiles and drones hit four Saudi cities, wounded 73 people, and set fires at oil sites. The 400,000-barrel-per-day Jazan refinery has not fully operated since late July.

Brent crude crossed $100 a barrel on September 9, the first time since July, after Iran said it attacked 10 ships near the Strait of Hormuz and the US destroyed five Iranian tankers. The tit-for-tat strikes, the biggest wave on shipping since the war began, cut tanker traffic through the strait to about half its pre-conflict level; Kpler counted only six commodity vessels crossing on Tuesday.
