Discontinued Saudel's typhoon designation Aug 30, then tracked its revival
On Aug 18, an automated UN-European Commission warning network flagged a tropical depression east of the Northern Mariana Islands. Four days later it was Typhoon Saudel-26, a Category 4 storm with 213 km/h winds and 13.1 million people in its path.

Guangxi's Zuojiang river at Chongzuo peaked at 108.87 meters on August 26, its highest level since 1955. Typhoon Narra's rains, which displaced more than 54,000 people, pushed the river 7.67 meters above flood stage before the storm weakened.
