Kenya's disputed 2017 election
Kenya's commission declared Uhuru Kenyatta the winner, but the Supreme Court annulled the result over process failures and ordered a rerun. The opposition then boycotted the repeat vote.
The annulment was a first for Africa and briefly upended the result.
Kenyatta won the rerun and served out his term; the courts gained credibility for the review.
It shows a path by which a declared African election result can still be reopened in court, the route Mundubile now threatens.
