TABC created after Prohibition (1935)
After the 21st Amendment repealed national Prohibition, Texas created the Texas Liquor Control Board, later renamed the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. The agency was given authority to license every alcohol sale in the state.
Texas gained a centralized system for legal alcohol sales.
TABC's license database is now the public record of every bar's legal status, including GoldenLeaf's.
Shows the institutional mechanism behind the license record.
