Denying criminal fraud allegations; March 31 delivery deadline slipped; Verge claims first commercial delivery but energy density independently tested at 268-297 Wh/kg vs. claimed 400 Wh/kg
Donut Lab's March 31, 2026 deadline for Verge Motorcycles deliveries came and went without independent verification of the company's headline specs. To rebut growing skepticism, Donut Lab launched a PR campaign called 'I Donut Believe' and published three rounds of results from Finland's VTT Technical Research Centre. VTT confirmed the battery charges to 80% in 4.5 minutes at cell level and retains 97.7% charge after 10 days idle; at pack level, a Verge TS Pro's 18 kWh battery charged from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes using air cooling. Verge Motorcycles claims the TS Pro is now the world's first commercially sold vehicle with a solid-state battery. But VTT never tested energy density or cycle life — the two specs that drew the industry's sharpest skepticism.
