East Jefferson Avenue Residential TR nomination (1985)
Detroit's East Jefferson corridor, once the city's most prestigious address, lost many of its 19th-century homes to demolition. A thematic resource nomination protected surviving structures, including the Campau House.
The Campau House and other residences gained National Register status.
Preserved a visible link to Detroit's early history along a major boulevard.
The listing gave this building recognition but did not freeze it in time; the new food license is the latest chapter in its commercial life.
