U.S. Special Operations Command cancelled its in-house Lightweight Machine Gun–Assault (LMG‑A) prototyping project and transferred it to the Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division, per a December 7, 2025 special notice and December 8 reporting.
